Customer Privacy Rights
If you are concerned about your data, you have the right, subject to the payment of a small fee, to request access to personal data which may hold or process about you.
Bookings
Payment in full is required after our service is carried out, whichever method you choose, and no deposits, part payments or instalments will be accepted.
We will text or call you on the day or the evening before with an ESTIMATED arrival time, and ask you to reply if we've sent you a text. This is to confirm that you are aware we are coming to you. An Estimated time of arrival is just that - you will still be committed to being in during the time slot that you have booked.
We will try our utmost to arrive within your chosen time slot but delays can happen when earlier jobs take longer than expected. If we are running late we will contact you with our expected arrival time.
Cancellations and Refunds
Just like any other business where you book an appointment, we require 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel. This is so we can fill your time slot and like other companies we will charge a standard fee of £20 for any last minute cancellations. If we are already on our way to you when you cancel the fee will rise to the full price of the booking you have made. To avoid further admin or legal costs last minute cancellation fees must be paid within 7 days by transfering the money to the account details we will send to you by text and email.
To cancel a booking simply phone, text or email us clearly stating you wish to cancel and provide your booking reference number, or name and address and time slot so we can easily identify your booking. You can find these contact options at the top of any page on our website.
Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel the contract, any sum debited to us will be refunded to you as soon as possible, less any charges (usually within two working days) and in any event within 7 days of your cancellation.
Best Efforts Basis
Our services are provided on a best efforts basis. We will not be held responsible in the event that we are unable to (i) clean or remove all stains especially those caused by make up, paint, dye and food colouring; (ii) clean or remove all scratches, scuffs, wear marks and creases, or otherwise restore any surface, fabric, or condition on your upholstery. All services listed in our marketing material are for reference only, and do not necessarily represent a guarantee that the service was performed depending upon the condition of your upholstery or upon a special extenuating circumstance.
Some fabrics may fluff up or bobble when being deep cleaned especially when scrubbing a bad stain, and some stains that have been left for a considerable amount of time can be impossible to remove. We accept no responsibility for anything our extraction machines pull up to the surface and are unable to remove that has been hidden deep within the upholstery.
Please bear in mind that upholstery needing extra work can take longer than usual to dry - possibly days in some extreme cases.
Drying Times
The drying times we suggest are simply guidelines based on our experience. Some fabrics and upholstery may be much thicker or denser than others which can take longer to dry. Some fabrics may be much more heavily stained and need us to prespray and foam and extract many times which can cause more dampness.
When you book us to carry out a deep clean or extreme clean on your upholstery you are asking us to carry out this service which we will do to the highest possible standard ensuring we extract as much foam and moisture from your upholstery as possible.
It is not up to us to dry your upholstery and we cannot be held responsible for upholstery that is left damp which can in some cases cause it to smell - just like laundry left in a washing machine for hours. We suggest heat or heating is switched on and windows and doors are left open to allow upholstery to air dry.
Pet Hair and Smells
None of the services provided guarantee the complete removal of pet hair and smells or allow for the time to do so - especially short hair and stale wee in older upholstery that has had heavy pet traffic. Although we will do our best to remove as much as we can during our cleaning process our equipment, techniques and products are designed mainly to extract everyday dirt, grime, smells and stains. We carry brushes and tools to remove as much hair as we possibly can but we do not allow extra time to do this. Where possible we may be able to spend more time specifically removing pet hair and smells if an extra charge is agreed by the customer based on the time and effort involved on the day.
We do not guarantee that our deodorising product will remove all pet smells and other bad smells from the upholstery.
Damage Disclaimer
We cannot be held liable for any damage that may occur to any electrical components ie sensors, switches and other circuits that are worn or loose or may have previously been damaged by moisture, or spills or previous cleaning. We cannot guarantee to remove 100% of grit, fluff and dog hairs. Some fabrics may slightly discolour, lighten, sag or crease when deep cleaned. Discoloration or wear of upholstery may become more visable after soiling has been removed. In some cases where stain removers or cleaning agents have been used previously and not properly flushed from the fabric these areas can lighten when professionally cleaned. Some stains can also permanently change the pigment of a fabric even after they have been removed this is prevalent with black mould. We cannot be held liable for rugs or fabrics that shrink as a result of being cleaned.
Liability
thesofacleaningcompany.com's entire liability for providing services is limited to the invoice amount for the service we provide.
Notices
All notices you send us must be sent to the contact details at the top of this page. We may give notice to you at either the email or postal address you provide to us when making a purchase. Notice will be deemed received and properly served 24 hours after an email is sent or three days after the date of posting of any letter. In providing the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that the letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an email that the email was sent to the specified email address of the addressee.
Conclusion
These terms are governed by English law. Any contract for the purchase of services from this site and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with any such contract will be governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
